Do you know the times when I see how deeply Stefan loves Elena? It’s not when he is protecting her or fighting off compulsion for her. It’s when he is holding Caroline in his arms and telling her that he would never let anything happen to her. It’s when he tells Bonnie to close her eyes and brings her out from a hole she fell into. It’s when he runs into a tomb to save Jeremy knowing that he would never be able to get out. It’s when he offers to switch places with Jenna when Klaus was going to sacrifice her. THOSE are the moments that I see what love really is. And that is the type of love I would want for myself. The type of love where my significant other would care not just for me, but for all the people who are important to me. Because if he truly loved me, he would know how much more important it is to me that my loved ones are taken care of first. That is my definition of love. (via stelena)
